See & Do
From the front door: step straight onto the Quiet Lane Network which links to a number of local footpaths and bridleways plus the old railway line at Knapton (approx. 1.5 miles away), which takes you along the Paston Way towards North Walsham.
There is also a footpath from Paston to Mundesley, starting just beyond the village pond. If you head north-east you can pick up a permissive path which leads to the cliff edge, enabling you to enjoy a coastal walk to Mundesley.

A little further afield (< 5miles)
- Bacton (Witton) Woods: Large woods with conifer plantations, mixed woodland and open spaces. Easy parking.

- Pigneys Wood: considerably smaller woodland area maintained by Norfolk Wildlife Trust. Also has open grassland area, reed beds and renovated barn with information boards about local flora/fauna. Small car park. Can also be accessed on foot from the Paston way.
- North Walsham & Dilham Canal. Parking far side of Bacton wood.
- Local beaches: Mundesley to the north (a Blue Flag beach); Bacton and Walcott to the south.

Over 5 miles
- Weavers Way: From Cromer to Great Yarmouth, explore local stretches from North Walsham to Aylsham or Bengate to Stalham.
- Paston Way: From Cromer to North Walsham (by means of a coastal detour); a country trail past 14 ancient churches, incorporating quiet lanes, villages, farmland, and the disused railway line.

Inland
- National Trust properties Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall both have large parkland areas to walk in.
- The Norfolk Broads: south of Stalham (approx. 9 miles), explore on foot or hire a boat and navigate the waterways.

Coastal
- North Norfolk has over 40 miles of coastline, much of which is in the North Norfolk area of outstanding natural beauty. Holkham in particular has a vast sandy beach and easy parking.

- Combine coastal and woodland walking by parking at Sheringham Park (National Trust) and walk through the woodland to the coast, taking in the vast and spectacular view over farmland and the North Norfolk railway to the sea.
